PICKERING, CANADA, APRIL 3, 2018 – Lenbrook International, developer of the BluOS wireless hi-res audio streaming platform, today announced the release of the new BluOS Controller desktop app. A powerful new control interface for macOS and Windows, the BluOS Controller has been redesigned and refined with a fresh, modern look and features that streamline your music controls across your desktop and mobile devices, making your at-home music experience more seamless and fluid than ever before.
The BluOS webpage indicates that you have to be in the Spotify app with a song playing before you can see the Connect icon in the Tidal app. This appears to be a reference to how Spotify is operated, rather than a necessity to access Spotify first, for obvious reasons, since some users are reporting no issues currently linking with Tidal Connect. It also does not work anymore when I use the web-version of Spotify on my laptop. This is only since a few days, as it has worked fine. The connection with the BLuOs-app works fine, so I can listen to TuneIn, but there is no posibility to play Spotify on my NAD/BluOss MDC. - Add another device that supports Spotify or has the app (like a speaker or laptop). Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network, and log in to Spotify. Listen out loud. Listen out loud. Fire up the Spotify app on your phone, laptop or tablet. Play a song and select Devices Available.
- The BluOS Apps is available as a Mobile Apps for Android, iOS and Kindle, and Desktop App for Windows and OS X Computers. Our Mobile Apps are handled by the Application Store of each respective Mobile device. Our Desktop Apps are available to download directly from the Bluesound homepage.
The new interface provides quick and easy access to the Navigation Drawer where users can browse their local music libraries, streaming music services, personalized playlists and more, all in one place; the Player Drawer has been redesigned to prioritize the most important controls and multi-room grouping buttons; and the simplified browse model makes searching for albums, artists, and songs easier than ever before.

With the desktop app, the BluOS experience has been completely refreshed with a new modern look where controls are clearer, smarter and easier to understand, while the intuitiveness of the Navigation and Player drawers lets users focus on their music without comprising functionality. BluOS enabled wireless speakers can now be grouped together as left/right stereo pairs inside the app, and users can build Fixed Groups for specific rooms and surround sound configurations using multiple speakers and devices. Audio settings can be adjusted and customized for each device with a simple click, allowing users to tailor the sound to their listening preferences. Updated Navigation and Player Drawer icons have a clean, consistent design and all the visual elements have been enhanced for improved readability.
The updated search design makes browsing and finding music effortless. Users can type in the name of an artist, song, or album, and have the search results auto-populated and displayed in real-time. With the new updates to the BluOS Controller and its search functions, users now have the continuity to seamlessly navigate and control their music across their desktop, phone or tablet, from anywhere inside their home.
Built directly in the app, the new music share utility lets users integrate music libraries stored on a computer or NAS drive. Sharing large music collections with BluOS works like any other file sharing protocol, so users can organize their music with folders and tags, drag them into the share utility, and browse their music library using the app. It also has built-in support for DSD playback, allowing music collectors to enjoy their favourite recordings in a high-resolution format.
In conjunction with popular home automation systems, the desktop app delivers platform technologies that make it easier for custom integrators and installers to create and build whole-music systems on-site using their laptop. A new and separate BluOS CI Utility app is also available for download alongside the desktop controller, making it simple for installers to seamlessly integrate BluOS enabled devices and map third-party control functions for leading smart home controllers like the Lutron Pico Remote for Audio and the iPort Surface Mount with Buttons.

Download the Alexa app, open it, and link your Spotify account with these steps: Does spotify free use data.
- Tap the menu in the top-left.
- Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
- Select Spotify, then Link account to Alexa.
- Enter your Spotify account details.
Set Spotify as your default service for music and podcasts so you don’t need to specify “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands to play music:
- Tap the menu in the top-left.
- Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
- Tap Choose default music services.
Note: To set Spotify as your default podcast service, tap Choose default podcast service. - Select Spotify and tap DONE.
Note: You still need to say “on Spotify” at the end of commands to play podcasts.
